Assisted Dip
How to
Machine- 1 Kneel on the pad, grip the bars, lean forward slightly.
- 2 Lower until shoulders are level with elbows.
- 3 Press back up to straight arms.
Tips
- More counterweight takes more of your body weight off; reduce it as you get stronger.
- Write the assistance setting in the exercise note so sessions compare.
- Lean forward for the chest, stay upright for the triceps.
Common mistakes
- Dropping fast because the pad catches you.
- Letting the shoulders shrug up at the bottom.
- Keeping the same assistance for months.
