Cable Chest Press
How to
Cable- 1 Set pulleys at chest height, step forward.
- 2 Press the handles forward until arms extend.
- 3 Return under control, elbows tracking back.
Tips
- Take a split stance so the cables do not pull you backward.
- Press the handles slightly inward so they meet in front of the chest.
- Cables keep tension at the end of the press, where free weights lose it.
Common mistakes
- Leaning forward so far that the body weight does the work.
- Letting the elbows travel far behind the body at the start.
- Standing too close to the stack, so the plates rest between reps.
