Assisted Pull-Up
How to
Machine- 1 Set the assistance, knees on the pad, overhand grip.
- 2 Pull until the chin clears the handles.
- 3 Lower to straight arms under control.
Tips
- The counterweight takes weight off: a higher number is easier.
- Write the assistance setting in the exercise note and lower it over time.
- Pause at the bottom so the pad does not bounce you up.
Common mistakes
- So much assistance that the reps never get hard.
- Half reps that stop short of straight arms.
- Pushing off the pad with the knees.
